Yoga
A path of inner transformation.
Yoga: A Path to Inner Clarity
Yoga is now a huge success. Social networks are full of ever more impressive postures… But we almost forget the essential: what is really the point of all these postures?
The answer to this question is found in the very first lines of the Yoga Sutras. The second sutra of the first chapter expresses this with great simplicity
yogaḥ citta vṛtti nirodhaḥ
Yoga is the calming of the fluctuations of the mind. When the mind becomes calm and clear, like the still surface of a lake, it allows us to see the world with lucidity, but also to better understand who we are and what direction to take our lives.
All the techniques and paths proposed by yoga are oriented towards this goal: the path to the Self, the discovery of this deep consciousness that dwells in each of us and from which our life unfolds.
A Living Tradition: Krishnamacharya and Viniyoga
The starting point of this path is always personal. Each one starts in a different place and for its own reasons. Often, the entry into yoga is through physical pain, a restless mind or the feeling that something is missing in a life that seems to have everything to be satisfying.
The tradition in which Sophia and Jens were trained by their teacher Bernard Bouanchaud can be traced back to T. Krishnamacharya, often considered one of the great founding masters of modern yoga. His son and student T.K.V. Desikachar developed and passed on a deeply respectful approach to the individual that he called Viniyoga : a yoga that adapts to the person and not the other way around. In this perspective, group lessons can be a great initiation.
But a truly fruitful yoga path develops above all through individual support, personalized follow-up and the establishment of a daily practice adapted to each person. Do you want to relieve certain pains, deepen your practice or build a personal practice adapted to your situation?
Sophia and Jens support you with more than 25 years of experience, both in individual support and in teaching adapted group lessons. And if you feel the call to pass on yoga in turn, do not hesitate to ask about our yoga teacher training recognized by the European Yoga Union.
